About Me
Hi, I'm Lorraine
I was recently reunited with my old school reports, which inspired me to kick off this introduction with a quote from a primary school English teacher: “Her written work is generally good. The errors in spelling and punctuation she makes are not numerous and with more practice in checking her work, will get fewer still.”

Solid advice, sir. Several years on, during my early roles in the magazine publishing world, I was reminded of this tip by editors who encouraged me to write, then whipped out their trusty red pens to teach me how to improve. My favourite book soon became the Oxford English Dictionary.
