What to Post When You’re Tired of Overthinking Your Content
Do you ever find yourself staring at the blank screen, wondering if *this* caption or post will finally hit the nail on the head and say/do exactly what you want to? Or – and we’ve all been there – will anyone care enough to stop the scroll?
Here’s the thing. Content fatigue is real, especially when you care about showing up in a way that feels aligned, not performative.
That’s why I created this list of six low-pressure content prompts to help you plan and publish posts without overthinking it.
They’re not trend-driven or algorithm-chasing. They’re here for the days when you want to stay visible but your energy (or creativity) just isn’t playing along.
Whether you’re planning posts for the summer or just trying to get something out this week, these content ideas are designed to reduce the scroll spiral and help you share something that aligns with you and your business or brand.
Content ideas to get you back into the flow of posting
1. The “Not many people know this, but…” post
Give your audience a look behind the curtain and share a lesser-known aspect of your story, process, or perspective. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Think: something behind-the-scenes, a past pivot, or a belief you hold that others in your niche don’t often say out loud.
2. The “reasons I do it this way” post
Share your approach to something you do regularly in your work. Think: your onboarding process, how you prep for a client call, or why you write your Instagram captions the way you do. This one builds trust *and* authority.
3. The “before and after” post
This doesn’t have to be a formal case study or traditional testimonial. It could be a moment of insight from a client, a shift in your mindset, or even a recent change in your approach. Paint a quick picture of what things were like before — and what’s different now.
Spot a pattern in your client conversations, inbox, or industry? Share it. This kind of post positions you as observant and thoughtful, without needing a flashy takeaway.
4. The “here’s something I’ve noticed” post
Spot a pattern in your client conversations, inbox, or industry? Share it. This kind of post positions you as observant and thoughtful, without needing a flashy takeaway.
5. The “this part surprised me” post
People love hearing about unexpected lessons or realisations. You could share something that surprised you in your business journey, a recent insight, or even something a client shared with you.
6. The “something small that works for me” post
We often overlook the things that feel obvious to us. But your audience may never have considered the things that work for you. Share a little tip, habit, mindset shift or routine that helps you stay grounded or consistent. You may inspire your audience to make a meaningful tweak or change to their daily routines or content processes.
Take or leave these suggestions. There’s no pressure to post – your visibility will shrink, but the world will keep turning.
You don’t have to wait for the perfect words or the perfect week.
